Red River Zoo - The Red River Zoo offers an outstanding living collection. Several endangered species live and breed in natural habitat exhibits. Featuring exotic and native animals and plants from areas around the world with similar climates to the Red River Valley. There are over 300 animals of 75 species housed at the Red River Zoo. The Dakota Territory Air Museum You'll find a variety of historic aircrafts, from a 1928 Waco to a 1949 Cessna, as well as several air force jets. Plenty of memorabilia is displayed showing how air travel has evolved over the last century. This is a great showplace for our region's aviation history. Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park This park is approximately a 7 mile drive south of Mandan.  With its great historical significance in American history it also offers sightseeing at the reconstructed village, and numerous other recreational opportunities. Dakota Dinosaur Museum This museum provides a facility for preservation and display of geological and paleontological specimens for public review and education. This 13,400 sq. ft. museum contains 11 full-scale dinosaurs, 3 full-scale dinosaurs a real Triceratops skeleton and one of the best Triceratops skulls ever found. National Buffalo Museum Exhibits are primarily on the history of bison in the plains culture, but offer something for everyone. Displays include Indian artifacts, artwork, 19th century firearms used by bison hunters, a children's room featuring wildlife of North Dakota; and video presentation about the history of bison. The Chahinkapa Zoo
The zoo is home to 200 animals and birds of 60 different species including otters, bison, monkeys, gibbon apes, camels, snow leopards, black bears, wallabies, cougars, llamas, Siberian tigers, and lots more.
